Let’s explore the Mahakam River and Orangutan Wildlife in the Large Forest of Borneo Island..!
Itinerary:
Day 01: Balikpapan – Kota Bangun – Mahakam river – Muara Muntai [L/D]
In the morning, we go to Kuyung village by private car, it takes about 5 hours driving. Upon arrival, board the motorized canoe cruise the mahakam river to Muara Muntai. Stay overnight at local Guesthouse.
Day 02: Muara Muntai Tg. Isuy – Ohong river – Muara Muntai – Kota Bangun [B/L/D]
After breakfast board the motorized canoe to Tg. Isuy, the homeland of Dayak Banuaq. Upon arrival, a welcome ceremony will be held by the chief of Dayak and followed by a traditional dance with the people. Afterwards, continue to Ohong river to observe the wild life, to see Proboscis monkey, Long tail maccaque, Snake, King fisher and other wild lives along the mangrove forest. Afternoon return back to the river to go to Kota Bangun. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 03: Kota Bangun – Tenggarong – Samarinda – Sangatta – Camp  kakap KNP [B/L/D]
Morning after breakfast, we leave to Sangata by car, takes about 6-7 hours driving including stop for lunch and photo shots. Upon arrival at Sangata, board the motorized canoe cruise up the river about 30 minutes to camp Kakap. Upon arrival, proceed to check in and overnight there. Then take your time walk into the Jungle to see wild life Orangutan.
Late afternoon return to the camp for having dinner. After dinner walk again to the jungle see the wild life night to observe the Tarantula and other insect. Then return to the camp for overnight.
Day 04: Camp Kakap – Jungle trekking – Orangutan observing – Balikpapan [B/L]
Wake up early morning and after breakfast start our jungle trekking into the Kutai National park for some Orangutan. Then return to the camp, and prepare back down the river to Sangata and Balikpapan, takeS about 7 – 8 hours driving by car. Arrive in Balikpapan, drop off to hotel / airport. End of tour.
